1987 Citroen 2cv Special finished in Celeste blue.
I bought this lovely original low mileage example in April 2021 and am only the 4th owner, I owned numerous 2cv's when I was younger and wanted to re live my youth but it's just not getting used enough to justify keeping it.
First registered on August 1st 1987 and sold through the Citroen dealer 'Lovekyn of Kingston', this 2cv is in amazing original condition and still wears it original Lovekyn number plates (front one is not currently on the car but comes with it).
In 1999, at around 56, 000 miles, the car was taken off of the road and put into storage where it remained until 2019. This is all documented with old MOT certificates from the car's first one in 1990 up till 1998, starting again with an MOT in 2019.
This period of storage, along with Dinitrol rust proofing from new, has undoubtedly helped to preserve the car and it still retains it's original chassis which has only had one small repair. Furthermore, I had the car fully Wayoiled last year.
The owner prior to myself, another long standing 2cv enthusiast, bought the car in June 2019 with the intention of taking it on a 2cv event to Iceland in the Summer of 2020, unfortunately, with the onset of Covid, this was cancelled. Extensive recommissioning and preparation work for this trip was carried out as follows; full service, new roof, new Yuasa battery, new tyres, new exhaust & cross box, electronic ignition, new offside kingpin, new coil, plugs & leads, new fuel pump & pipes, new regulator, new horns & wipers and adventure bumpers. LED running light were fitted to comply with regulations required in Denmark & Iceland, there is also a CD radio and voltmeter. New parts fitted during my ownership are a new starter motor and nearside kingpin. The car starts easily even when it's been standing for several weeks and runs and drives perfectly, I did 130 miles last Saturday to a classic car event at Winchester Autobarn.
As far as I can tell, all of the paintwork is original and still in condition, the car looks great and the interior trim still presents very well. Current advisory free MOT runs until 1st September 2022.
So, to recap. Rare opportunity to buy a nice original 2cv in pretty Celeste blue, 4 owners and only 57, 600 miles with invoices for all recent work. Original book pack as supplied when new, 2 sets of keys, original supplying dealer number plates, all old MOT's, several old tax discs and a Haynes workshop manual. I have a current V5 registered to me at my home address.
