For sale is this 1983 Triumph TR65 Thunderbird for spares or full restoration. The bike was crashed in the early 90s and mostly recovered, minus the front end, and has been hopping between my family’s garages since then. We have now finally decided that we won’t get around to restoring it or doing anything else with it, so it’s time to see what someone else can do.
As you can see it’s in a pretty sorry state, but there are some plus points. The engine doesn’t seem to be seized, although I haven’t attempted a full revolution. The seat and side panels are also in good condition, though obviously need a good clean, and the instrument binnacle isn’t too bad, though the rubber surrounds have perished a bit. At a glance the rest of the bike (frame, right hand silencer, rear wheel etc.) seems okay, but will obviously need a thorough check with a trained eye. Among the spares is an unopened old stock high handlebar clutch cable, the cover for the left side of the engine, the registration document and a Triumph workshop manual, which is a bit dirty but perfectly usable.
Rather than break it into individual spares I would rather sell the bike and spares to the new owner as a whole. I'm unable to deliver the bike so you will have to arrange your own collection.
