Description
Grace is an outstanding, award wining Birch Grey 1959 4 door Morris Minor 1000. Originally supplied by Stuart and Arden of London N15 on 16/ 01/ 59 to the Reverend G Eldridge. Upon his death, Grace passed to his brother who used her sparingly, finally parking Grace in his dry garage after an MOT on 4th December 1971 at mileage 39458. Grace then stood for 42 years in the garage, unmoved.
Discovered in 2013, and then subjected to a recorded, bare metal restoration, retaining many original signs of patina, just about everything is original including the leather upholstery. Only those items have been replaced that were absolutely necessary, or required for safety or reliability reasons. So there are new carpets and headlining, and some rechroming here and there, but the remainder of the interior is as it came out of the factory. Her original registration has been retained complete with the original Bluemels plates.
The original 948cc engine, gearbox and back axle still work as they should. The original tool kit, wind up jack and tyre pump are still in the boot.
The following incomplete list will give some idea of the work that was also carried out :
New heritage fuel tank
New radiator and all hoses
New brake lines, cylinders and shoes
New stainless steel exhaust
New master cylinder
New fuel pump
New battery
New tyres
New halogen headlamps
New alternator (dynamo retained)
New flashing indicators working in conjunction with the original illuminated trafficators
Carburettor overhauled
Oil pressure and water temp gauge fitted.
Grace is complete with a heritage certificate, original registration document and drivers handbook, various manuals, invoices and paperwork from over her 60 years.
Grace is obviously very cherished, and ONLY has her cover removed and brought out of the garage on dry days. Her present mileage is 48900. She is supplied with both professionally made indoor and outdoor covers and a selection of spares and parts.
Grace is advertised elsewhere.
