Thanks for taking the time to look at this advert for my rather lovely Ducati 750SS of 1998 vintage. It’s the last year of the better looking (in my opinion) SS models before the fuel injected versions were launched. It’s got just over 18000 miles on the clock and the MOT runs to July 2022.
The bike is in amazing condition and a credit to its previous owners who maintained it with no expense spared and kept a detailed history file. They clearly looked after the bike, it’s stunning.
It’s got virtually new tyres, chain, sprockets, brake pads, Hagon rear shock, pipercross airfilter and cambelts and must be one of the best around in my somewhat biased opinion. There is none of the usual flaky paint on the engine and none of the usual frame corrosion in the nooks and crannies either. I hope the photos do it justice, but a viewing is highly recommended.
I have owned the bike for just over a year, having had a 600 and 900 in the past. The 600 was one of my all time favourite bikes (out of 48 so far) whereas the 900 was too lumpy with the snatchy dry clutch. The 750 is the best of both worlds in my eyes. The reason for sale is that my 60 year old body is not what is used to be and I am suffering with neck problems.
Since I bought the bike, I have had the ‘bars extended so they can be adjusted to max height to help my neck plus I fitted a new battery and changed the oil and filter. I have also balanced the carbs.
The Viper pipes make a lovely sound - quite loud, but not too bad and the bike goes, handles and stops very well indeed. The standard silencers come with the bike as do the original rear shock and airfilter.
