Regretfully selling my wife's 1991 Figaro which is production number 3497

Imported into the UK in October 2003
Originally finished in Lapis Grey, the car has had a respray since being imported into the UK in a pastel shade of yellow which really suits the style of the car and makes this Figaro a little more unusual! The seats were also re-trimmed at the same time and have the added touch of colour-coded yellow piping and again this really adds to the visual appeal of the car. It was this combination that really drew my wife to this particular example, even though, as a rule, she doesn't like yellow cars!!
The retrimmed seats really lift the interior, the new covers cost one of the previous owners £250. The same owner also had the fabric part of the roof replaced.
The car presents really well and turns heads. Everyone comments on it!
There are some minor rust patches on parts of the roof but overall the bodywork I would say is well above average! The car is really solid underneath, rear arches have been replaced as part of the respray.
The odometer reads 162650km, so just around 100k miles. The speedo has been converted to mph with a new dial face - a common item from the Figaro community. The the odometer still runs in km.
The original clarion radio was not with the car when we bought it but instead it was fitted with an aftermarket adaptor for a single DIN radio together with a pioneer cd/ mp3/ usb head unit which is compatible with streaming through your phone via the usb input. The unit powers a pair of kenwood dualmag speakers, one in each door.
The engine had a major service in November 2020 at 160500km, so just 2000km / 1200 miles ago! This included a new air filter (which still looks brand new!) fuel filter, spark plugs, water pump, timing belt and auxiliary belts. All documented. The fitment cost for these was nearly £400!
Just prior to putting up for sale, I have replaced the sump gasket half moon seals, cleaned out and re-sealed the sump, refilled with new oil and replaced the oil filter.
I’ve also just replaced the thermostat and thermostat housing for piece of mind (looked to be the original!) and during this I discovered the radiator drain plug was broken so this has also been replaced. Coolant flush and new antifreeze ready for winter! The cooling fan kicks in as it should and the high capacity radiator (which is another thing recently replaced) keeps things nice and cool
The A/ C works. It's not ice cold like a modern car a/ c, but it provides some benefit.
There is a file full of receipts but unfortunately the history is incomplete. We have receipts going back 2-3 previous owners.
Tyres have plenty of tread and the exhaust and radiator are recent and in good condition.
The car comes with a Figaro-specific fabric car cover and a steering wheel stoplock for added security
Genuine Reason for sale - having just got a dog we need a car with at least 5 seats or a boot and this has neither! We have found a new car now, so we are looking for a quick sale.
The car is valued at £6000 by the UK Figaro club. This can be used for agreed value purposes for classic insurance. So grab a bargain!!
