This must be one of the more desirable Eunos special editions: its a 1995 Mazda Eunos 1. 8 R-Ltd, one of just 1000 ever produced for the Japanese domestic market. Of these, 894 were finished in Satellite Blue while the remaining 106 were finished in Chaste White.
The specification of these R-Ltds is particularly good and includes red leather seats and trim, Nardi wood-rimmed steering wheel with matching handbrake handle and gear knob, yellow strut brace and 15” BBS alloy wheels. Its covered around 82000 miles (131060 km) and as you can see, its in super condition with no rust or bodywork damage.
The mechanical specification of these cars is pretty good too with the 133bhp ‘Series 2’ 1. 8 engine, later ECU, lightened flywheel, Torsen lsd with shorter final drive ratios (compared to the original Mk1).
There is a comprehensive collection of paperwork comprising of lots of receipts for work carried out over the years along with old MOT certificates etc. Its had a couple of handy upgrades including adjustable GAZ Gold coil-overs and an alloy radiator. Its had a substantial check over and sort out: brake pads were replaced recently (Brembos on the rear) along with new rear discs and it also has stainless steel braided brake lines. The Cam sensor 'O' ring was replaced along with a new cam cover gasket. The car received a full service of course (new oil, filters spark plugs, timing re-set etc) along with a new MOT. I also replaced both of the rubber gaiters under the gear selector and topped up gearbox oil, turret oil and dif oil. The 15" BBS alloys are in good condition and are fitted with a matching set of Michelin tyres all in good order. Its fair to say that this is very well sorted and is ready to be used and enjoyed.
Inside, carpets and seats are in good condition with no tears or splits. The door cards are in good order and its a really nice place to be with a real 'classic car' feel to it. Its fitted with a Panasonic stereo along with uprated speakers and an electric aerial and it has an immobiliser fitted. Specification includes electric windows, power steering and stainless steel sill tread plates.
Bodywork is excellent with none of the usual rust – sills, wheel arches and wings are all rust-free and in good solid condition. I can see that the sils have been repaired in the past and this looks to have been carried out to a high standard. The paintwork is excellent too with just the odd minor stone-chip spotted. Underneath, its all good too with solid lower sills, floors and its been treated with wax-oil and Dynax. Its fitted with a black Mk2 mohair soft top complete with glass window.
Out on the road, its really good to drive and feels strong and smooth with excellent clutch and gearbox feel. It holds its temperature perfectly and is happy cruising at motorway speeds all day long if required though its even more fun on a decent twisty road. I reckon I've covered 300+ miles in this and its just terrific to drive. Its ready to go to a new owner who I’m sure will love it. This is a lovely car in really nice, sound condition and price is a very firm £6250.
