BMW 530i SE 1989
89950 miles, Delphin grey. 185bhp M30 3 Litre 6 cylinder engine with manual transmission. 12 month MOT with certificates dating back to 1992. Original Service book, 2 keys. A great example of an early e34 5 series. 5+ owners.
I have owned the car for around 15 months and the car has always been garaged. The engine is strong and the gearbox perfect (5 speed). When I bought the car the suspension and brakes had been replaced and I have updated the interior in my ownership. All tyres in good condition and the alloys are in perfect condition.
The original seats and door cards were in a poor state and looked dated so I bought a genuine sport interior which really lifts the interior. I had the leather recolonised and the fabric cleaned, along with new door cards and I would describe the interior as in excellent condition. I also replaced the gear knob with a genuine M Tech item and fitted a recolonised sport steering wheel. A brand new retro Continental car stereo has been fitted with a hands-free option, although I have still to get a period aerial fitted. A genuine BMW backbox has also been fitted recently. The paintwork is in excellent condition but a small piece of the plastic sill has come off so that will need to be attended to. Other small issues are the interior lights are not coming on (fuse related) and the petrol gauge can be erratic but working fine at the moment.
In summary this is a very rare 5 series with manual transmission mated to the bullet proof M30 engine. The colour is unusual, but I think it really suits the car. Unfortunately, I don’t use the car much and have put on less than 1000 miles since I bought it. If I was to keep the car, I would fix the minor things I have mentioned and fit a nice set of genuine Alpina alloys which would really look the part.
