Jensen 541R.
A well-known car to the Jensen Owners Club being owned by a committee member, it is now up for sale after ownership of 60 years. It has been shown at many club meetings and national shows winning many awards. Purchased in the 60s from the first owner this originally 2 tone Pastel Pink/ Dusk Rose car was used on a daily basis with a rolling programme of improvements over the years to bring it up to a concours winning condition. The car is now finished in Cerise purple with Black leather interior both in excellent condition. The car has been maintained meticulously by the owner and although it has now covered 175, 000 miles it is still on the original engine and drives fault free.
The 541R uses fibreglass bodywork mounted on a steel chassis and is fitted with a straight-six engine, three SU carburettor version of the 4-litre Austin engine and four speed transmission with Laycock de Normanville overdrive.
Suspension form the Austin A70 is independent at the front using coil springs with a Panhard rod located rigid axle and leaf springs at the rear. This 541R is fitted with Steel wheels and Dunlop disc brakes servo assisted—the first British four seater thus equipped.
