A genuine and rare TA23 Toyota Celica, RHD British Registered 16/ 11/ 1976
Genuine reason for unexpected sale.
1588cc single cam 2-TB engine, 5 speed gearbox. Replacement leads, plugs, cap and rotor arm, oil and filter changed 2 weeks ago. Brake fluid flushed and replaced. Antifreeze flushed and replaced.
First off, this car won't win a concours competition, it is extremely solid ( and waxoyled within an inch of it life ) but has been resprayed at some point ( same colour) and had pattern metal replacement wings fitted. It is extremely solid, honest and the interior is original and complete. Always pulls a crowd.
Inner and outer wings front and back, boot all in great condition- all of which are original along with the strut towers and rear mounts.
Over the winter I stripped and replaced every bush on the car and replaced them with standard poly 'Super-Pro' items.
I also replaced every ball joint including the steering, all 4 shock absorbers and fitted a new set of seal and internals to the brake master cylinder ( replacing both robber tops.) Clutch master and slave cylinders replaced with items sourced from Japan.
The original Aisian twin carbs and manifold have been replaced by brand new twin Weber 45's on a new manifold with a twin cable linkage (the original carbs, air cleaner and linkages are included in the sale). The distributor was rebuilt and re-curved to suit. It was then set-up by CPE at Bicester Heritage.
Front and rear spoiler where imported from Japan by the previous owner.
Split rim alloys with recent tyres. Aftermarket, but period sunroof that works and doesn't leak.
Original Toyota tool kit and wrap
Sounds fantastic.
The car also comes with a stack of rare spares including:
Various Lights
Gasket sets
2 metal front wings ( used but stripped and clean )
2 outer sills (new)
Steering box
Full front suspension set up with cross member
Front calliper repair kit with ss pistons (new)
Bumpers (used but undented)
and some other bits.
Loads fo history including copies of all the previous owners logbooks.
More pictures available via a Googledrive folder if required.
