1996 Rover Mini Tartan Spi Ex-Japan 64000 miles
This car was imported to the U. K. from Japan by its first British owner in 2010 and I bought it from him in 2018.
It was maintained fastidiously during his ownership, receiving wax treatment every six months and regular servicing, both of which I have continued for the four years of my ownership. As a consequence, the car is rust free, very solid and has proved reliable enough to serve as a trusted daily driver.
It was last serviced in February of this year and the next MOT is due February 2023. At the last MOT the only advisory it received was for wear to the offside inner front tyre. Both front tyres have now been replaced and the alignment issue which caused it addressed, an invoice for which will be included in the history file.
It is in excellent condition inside and out, as well as underneath. The paint is very good with no bubbling in any of the usual places and only a few minor age related marks. Inside, I have replace the walnut dash, which was cracking, with an excellent quality exact replica. The original dash will also be included in the sale. There is some minor wear to drivers seat but I have two new, old stock, original Rover seat covers in the same tartan material still in their box to fit both driver and passenger seats. These are also included in the sale.
Being a model originally sold in the Japanese market, it is fitted with air conditioning which works surprisingly well, blowing as cold as any modern car.
I have during the course of my ownership always attended to any issues that have arisen and replaced aging items likely to compromise smooth running in the future. This work has been carried out by the excellent garage in our village and a local classic car/ mini specialist.
