We are delighted to present for sale this early Series 3 Land Rover®, presented in sought-after Mid-Grey colour scheme with Limestone Wheels. We purchased this vehicle locally to our premises (Leeds), from a family who had owned it for many years.
Externally, it has all the period features one would expect from an early Series 3 – a bonnet mounted spare, razor edge bonnet, rear grabhandles, vintage numberplates, recent canvas, etc. Uprated defender-style door mounted mirrors are fitted for extra visibility behind. A set of road-biased tyres are fitted, which give the best compromise between road-holding ability and off-road performance. Coupling all this together gives the appearance of a fairly standard Series 3 Land Rover®, with modern upgrades one would hope to see – along with that gorgeous colour scheme.
The interior carries on the standard theming – with three standard front seats, along with deluxe matting to the footwells. The dashboard has been re-trimmed previously, which is nice to see. There are a pair of front door cards fitted for that premium feel. The rear is unfitted with the exception of a floor mat to the load area, which protects the floor against scratching. Rear bench seats can be fitted if required for £495 inclusive.
Out on the road, this Series 3 drives just as it should, with the petrol engine being smoother, quieter and more powerful than the equivalent period diesel engine. It delivers a pleasing period drive, which is aided by the cross-climate rubber giving an improved ride. Due to the rarely seen mid-grey colour scheme, it turns heads when in town or in the country, along with waves and smiles.
