We are delighted to present for sale this high-specification Land Rover® Series 3, finished in Nardo Grey with Black Modular Wheels. This particular Series 3 has had a host of modern upgrades to make it as useable as possible, whilst still maintaining its original character.
Externally, there are lots of desirable features – the bonnet mounted spare, vintage number plates, front lamp guards, larger defender mirrors for better visibility, recent canvas and rear grab handles. Coupled with the larger 700 modular wheels and tyres in black, which complement the black wheel arches – in our opinion, we think this really is a great looking, striking truck, with a good amalgamation of period features with tasteful modern aesthetic upgrades.
On the inside, there is a set of three front standard seats, with deluxe matting to the footwells. The interior bulkhead and seat box have been carpeted for additional sound deadening, with door cards also having been added to the doors for that premium feel. The rear is unfitted, but has been strengthened with body coloured chequerplate to prevent against damage and scratches on the metal underneath. There is a load mat to the floor area. If so desired, this could house bench seats on request for £495, which would increase seating capacity to seven occupants including the driver.
However, the main area this Series 3 excels is out on the tarmac – the 200DI engine (turbo removed) gives more horsepower than the standard set up, and the reconditioned gearbox feels tight and changes gear beautifully. The ride has been improved too, with parabolic springs and pro-competition shocks fitted to give as much comfort as possible – appreciated over speed bumps or potholes. There is also an overdrive fitted, which makes cruising at more modern speeds an easier experience – this really can keep with modern traffic flow, whilst also having a more relaxed cruising experience – a real “Wolf” in sheep’s clothing!
In summary, if you are looking for an MOT & Tax Exempt Land Rover®, which also benefits from modern upgrades which allow more frequent use, then this could be for you. With scope to add rear bench seats so you can also carry the whole family, along with the allure of classic looks with more modern motoring, then this should prove to be a solid investment for the future.
