Beschreibung
1957 Bianchi Mendola GT, series 2. Matching numbers bike, V5 in my name, historic tax. Not in standard trim, has been fully restored in Bianchi race colours along the lines of the Moto Giro bikes, fitted with some desirable accessories including ultra rare Tommaselli top yoke headset with built in levers. Bianchi logo rubbers. Flyscreen and number boards in aluminium. Bespoke rear sets (no kickstart fitted). Cable operated rear brake. Twin leading shoe front brake. Ken Cobbing seat. Crotch saver. Many bespoke parts in alloy etc etc. The bike is also fitted with brand new old stock 17 inch Borrani flanged aluminium wheel rims, genuine Italian ones light and strong (not the later ones made in China) which are now unobtainable in this size. Rear shocks built up specially in Italy as correct size units no longer available. New exhaust and silencer from Italy. Veglia replica rev counter (which is not working as needs drive coupling making, not got around to it yet). Magneto ignition. Wired up for lights to run off a dry cell battery. Full engine rebuild with new parts, bored out to 143cc. Runs lovely, starts very easily, sounds crisp, gearbox is great. Condition is not 100% concours standard but not far off. Beautiful Italian styling and quite a rare manufacturer. Build quality of Bianchi was extremely good. Why buy a bantam or tiger cub when you can have La Dolce Vita ?
Open to sensible offers or looking to part ex for larger Italian bike.
Have the original footrests and toolboxes for restoration.
