We are very pleased to offer an iconic eighties Hot Hatch in amazing condition with fantastic provenance and the largest service history file I have ever seen which goes back to day one. This GTi has had only 2 owners in 36 years, one long term owner from 1989 until 2018. It has two full ring binders of history which include every invoice, service receipt, tax disc and MOT certificate. It also has a sales receipt from 1989 from Whites VW in Camberley and letter confirming the sale. It still also has its original supplying dealer number plates. It is also accompanied with its original handbooks and service book. Finished in gleaming Tornado red with Candy stripe trim and enhanced with those awesome Pirelli P-slot alloys with four new Pirelli Cinturato tyres. This type 19 has lived a sheltered life and is offered in its original factory spec with no modifications and it has all of its original Type 19 features unique to this year, quarter light windows and door mirrors further back. I have been lucky enough to own a few MK2 GTi's and I can confirm that they are still great fun to drive with bags of revvy power and accurate handling and they have earned there place as a Classic Hot Hatch and have rightly become collectable. It has recently benefitted from a full glass out respray to a very high standard and in the flesh is in amazing condition ready to be shown, driven and enjoyed.
Driving this GTi is great fun, very tame around town with a slick gearbox and they easily keep up with modern traffic, in fact they are still fast. The 1. 8 8 valve engine is very smooth and when you get out on the open road and put your foot down it really flies, I have driven this GTi many miles and I can can confirm its ready to go anywhere and it always makes me smile, not too mention how many people want to talk about it, after all they are a rare sight on todays roads.
The interior of this GTi has been well preserved , the Candy cloth trim presents well and there is no wear on the bolsters. The switch gear is all original and the MFA computer works perfectly. The roof lining is also in very good condition, the parcel shelf is un cut and it has its original factory stickers on the boot floor. This model also has a sliding sunroof.
As you can see from the pics this GTi is very well presented with and has a very period factory look. The paintwork is gleaming and the alloys are also very good. The shell is super solid and the sills, floors and boot floor are all solid. It has a full MOT is serviced and is ready to go and be enjoyed.
