Beautiful 1959 Austin Pick up
Good points:
Extremely rare in this condition
Starts stops drives etc - have driven it 20+ miles with no problems
Nice paint
Very straight body, very solid,
Steering rack (rather than vague steering box),
Fitted with disc brakes at the front,
Interior retrimmed in red which contrasts nicely with the grey body,
ULEZ exempt (Historic Vehicle),
New alternator.
Not so good points:
Fitted with Nissan diesel engine and automatic gearbox from TX11 taxi - quite noisy and vibrates a fair bit! But good for 500, 000 miles, apparently! Bulkhead and engine bay has been modified to accept the larger power-plant,
Wipers need attention,
Bonnet stay is missing.
We bought this as a potential shop-truck with a view to dropping a B-series, from an MGB GT in to her. But we have to face the fact that we are never going to get around to it! These are £12-15k with the original engines so there is plenty of room for you to convert it to a B-series.
Happy to consider part exchange for a classic car or motorcycle with cash either way.
