Phase 2 with the siding sunroof. Non Power Steering model.
This is a great car to drive which is enhanced by the Mi16 power. The car is mechanically sound with some cosmetic imperfections as shown in the photos. This is not a mint investment 205 but it is a usable classic that I drive daily and it attracts attention wherever it goes.
MOT until 22nd August 2022. I can possibly put another MOT on the car at the buyers expense.
Engine & Transmission
- Alloy block 1. 9 16v Mi16 running the Mi16 electrics with a Longmans Exhaust Manifold.
- The engine transplant was done many years ago so the original engine is not present.
- 5 Speed 1. 9 gearbox with tight linkage.
- Recent Cambelt and full service within the last 300 miles.
- New alloy radiator fitted.
Bodywork
- There are some imperfections in the paintwork but it is presentable.
- Holds a good shine.
- Some rust bubbles on the front wings and on the rear driver arch below the plastic moulding.
- Please look at the photos carefully.
- Lacquer peel on the edges of the roof.
Interior
- Rare 309 Goodwood seats in good condition.
- Standard elsewhere.
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes
- Michelin tyres all round with plenty of tread.
- Wheels have been recently refurbished.
- Originally a 1. 9 GTI so has disc brakes on the rear axle.
Service History & Keys
- I have learned that the car was damaged and repaired in 2006. I am not sure of the extent of damage but it was done at a time when these cars were worth very little, so I doubt it would have been repaired if the damage was extensive, the car drives 100%.
- 2 sets of keys that share the same key for all locks.
- Immobiliser & alarm.
- Cambelt and full service within the past year, no other history present, MOT history is online.
- I am selling the car on behalf of a friend who has over 10 cars in his collection and is trying to downsize.
- V5 logbook is present.
