Overall the 900 'six' was designed with more flowing lines compared to its predecessor (the 750) with a smaller fork-mounted fairing borrowed from the Moto Guzzi Le Mans.
Alejandro De Tomaso purchased Benelli in 1971. His goal was to create a two-wheeled equivalent to his exotic Pantera 'super' cars.
Production of the 900 ceased in 1989 at which point less than 2000 units had been delivered world-wide (compared with over 3000 units of the 750sei)
Imported brand new to the UK in April 1990 this motorcycle is thought to be one of the very last 900 sei's registered.
