We are delighted to present for sale this MOT & Tax Exempt Ragtop Series 3, finished in the Marine Blue colour scheme with seating for seven.
Externally, there are lots of desirable features such as the vintage number plates, bonnet mounted spare, deluxe bonnet, rear grab handles, recent canvas and larger defender style door mirrors for better visibility behind. Free Wheeling Hubs are fitted to aid fuel economy and limit front axle wear. We really like the unspoiled look of this Series 3 - which looks very "stock" and as it should, without any garnish to spoil the clean lines!
The interior continues the standard theme - there are three recent standard front seats, with deluxe matting to the footwells. The rear is fitted with a pair of twin bench seats, meaning seating for seven occupants including the driver. There is a load mat to the rear floor to protect against scratches. It is nice to see an interior just as it should be, and we believe it is all the better for it. The ability to take the whole family on days out is a great option, whilst the rear seats also fold away to reveal the entire load space if carrying larger items.
Out on the road, this Series 3 delivers a pleasing period drive - the uprated Weber Carburettor gives a little more power over standard, and the FWH aid the economy over standard by reducing front axle wear and rolling resistance. The cross climate tyres mean a good compromise between on and off road driving. The "stock" look of this Series turns heads - we enjoyed many waves and smiles as we drove along.
In summary, if you are looking for a Series 3 that can carry the whole family, whilst avoiding the hassle and expense of yearly road tax and MOTs, then this could be for you. With the added bonus of classic insurance, it should prove to be cheap to run in the longer term too.
