Audi Quattro B2 Coupe 2. 2 DOHC (1990) in Tornado Red. The holy grail of the road-spec production UR-Quattro line up, the “RR” model. The Quattro transformed Audi's image during this era and is considered by many one of the finest road/ rally cars of its day. The punchy turbocharged engine and composed four-wheel drive chassis delivered an unmatched driving experience. With standard features including power steering, ABS, electric windows, central locking, heated seats and a sunroof, the RR is without doubt the enthusiasts model to own.
The RR benefited from the 2. 2 DOHC 20V inline 5 cylinder power unit, which delivered significant improvements to power, torque and fuel economy over the earlier models. The engine produced 220PS, a top speed of 143mph and 0-60 in just 6. 5 secs. With four wheel drive and a five speed manual gearbox, the Quattro was readily equipped to deliver a truly rewarding driver experience. This Quattro has covered only a modest 145, 000 miles, throughout which regular investment has been made in maintaining and caring for the fine example you see here today. Service, cambelt, water pump and front brake discs/ pads have all been replaced within the last 1, 000 miles.
Externally the quattro is easily identifiable by its striking wide arch body panels which provide a constant reminder of the car's rally heritage. The interior seat trim is half leather and brands the wording “quattro" stitched through the fabric centres. The seats and carpets are in great condition and have been well cared for throughout ownership.
Lovingly maintained by both Audi main dealer/ Audi specialist for many years. Previously flagged as a cat D insurance loss in 2000, however a history file full of receipts and purchase invoices from previous owner purchases. The Quattro has only 6 previous owners and an MOT history dating back to 1995. A fitted velvet vehicle cover in “quattro” branding has helped maintain clean and dust-free storage.
