It is in lovely condition and ready to enjoy.
The engine starts readily and runs very sweetly. The ammeter indicates the dynamo is charging properly.
There is full weather equipment including a set of side screens. The condition suggests it has had little use.
The car was found derelict in 1993 and was totally restored over the next thirteen years. There is a photographic record on file and bills for all the work done. More recently the car has had some £6000 spent on her including a complete engine rebuild.
The maroon paintwork and black wings still polish to a deep shine and show the car off nicely.
This late Austin 7 features the three main bearing engine, four speed synchromesh gearbox, Borg & Beck clutch and a semi-Girling system braking system. These modifications helped make the 7 easier to drive and extend its life in the marketplace.
The car comes with a full tool kit including a jack and starting handle. There are also quite a few spares with the car including a cylinder head gasket, carburetter gaskets, bulbs , fan belt, ignition spares etc.
This is the second time we have had the privilege of selling the car and is only for sale due to loss of storage.
Now quite rare, the Opal Tourer is an ideal introduction to Austin 7 ownership which is so well supported by numerous specialists and owners clubs.
For further information or to arrange a viewing please call James on the details below or contact us via the website.
A video of the car can be seen on the St Andrews Autos YouTube channel.
