The fastest saloon in the world at launch, the 5-litre, 507bhp, V10, E60 M5 was rather special
Performance was sensational with 62mph arriving in 4. 5 seconds and, with the speed limiter deactivated, 203mph was theoretically possible
The car's only real negative was the 7-speed SMG Drivelogic gearbox which was always in 6th or 7th when you needed 2nd. Peak power arrived at 7, 750rpm and peak torque at 6, 100rpm and, as the car was always doing 1, 500rpm, overtaking was not great
A manual gearbox was never offered by the factory, however this super example has been fitted with a 6-speed manual gearbox, complete with a new flywheel and clutch, recently developed for the E60 M5 by marque specialists
This smart M5 dates from 2005 and has covered 69, 800 miles from new. It's finished in Black Sapphire metallic over a black Merino leather-trimmed cabin, with brushed aluminium trim inserts on the centre console, door cards and dashboard
