- Complete tool kit in boot with spacesaver tyre
- Bombproof M57 engine and 5-speed gearbox. If you don't know about these, have a read up about them. They are widely regarded as the best diesels BMW ever made. No DPF and no swirl flaps. If these engines are properly cared for, which this one clearly has been, they can go on and on and on. Keep up the maintenance and they will not let you down.
This has been our family car for carrying our kids around and I have kept it garaged and in top mechanical condition, even servicing or replacing parts that are not necessarily on the service schedule and that most people don't bother with (e. g. diff oil change). We live in the countryside and it has never had a short journey - minimum 15 miles each time and ALWAYS warmed up gently until ready to get a move on.
The car has never let me down and has been 100% reliable, with all parts replaced as listed below. I was going to keep it forever (hence the faultless maintenance) but am now having to sell because we need a larger vehicle having recently had another kid.
This is quite simply the best all-round car I have ever had. It looks great, is quick, comfortable, smooth, well-balanced, practical, frugal, 100% reliable and SO much fun to drive. I've done 20, 000 miles in it since 2021 and it's never put a foot wrong.
Please note it's in daily use so mileage will rise until sold. I am in no particular rush to sell and solid examples like this with good bodies and full histories are hard to find, so please no silly offers.
Recent work carried out includes:

- Colour-coded M-sport front bumper & new fog lights. Looks amazing
- All new disc brakes and pads (2022)
- Just had professional four-wheel balance and laser alignment
- New front and rear shockers (2022)
- New rear springs (2022)
- New lower arm bushes
- New bearings x 2 (2021 and 2022)
- Coolant flush and new coolant, September 2022
- Currently wearing 2 x winter tyres on the rear and 2 x summer tyres on the front. Thousands of miles of tread left all round.
Bad bits:
- Passenger door window needs guiding slightly when you raise it. The motor is fine but it's the regulator that needs replaced. I have a brand-new regulator that I ordered here but have not had time to fit it. Can supply for cost I paid for it if you want it.
- The body is in v. good condition for year but there is a tiny bubble on the rear quarter where it meets the side skirt and another on the OSF wing. The paint work has been very well cared for throughout this car's life and if you pay some attention to these areas now, it will continue to be a stunning head-turner of a car. Very few E46s are in this condition nowadays and they're only going up in value.
