Austin Mini Cooper S, extensive nut & bolt restoration, keeping as much originality as possible.
This numbers matching, RHD, UK car in snowberry white was first sold in Glos. Bought in April 2018 by the current owner, the shell was blasted, new floors and panels were fitted by a respected restorer with 30 years experience.
This 1968 Mini Cooper S Mk2 with twin petrol tanks, has the original shell, engine, subframe, interior and is in factory colours.
The original engine was sent to Southam Mini (top A series builder) with the objective of producing a period correct flexible engine that doesn't overheat in traffic, can cruse on the motorway and can be enjoyed on B roads. Southam came up with a 1380 with Swiftune internals, straight cut box, mated to twin split Webers (started by 1960's Mini Works Teams after racing regulations changed allowing any make of carbs could be used, however the standard inlet manifold must be retained).
The car is original with 130mph speedo, correct black interior, 10 inch magnesium alloys, however it produces 100bhp+ and is very reliable.
