Westfield SEIW
Mazda MX-5 powered Westfield, built mainly for road use with features for track days:-
- RAC-style braced roll bar
- Westfield racing seats
- 4 point racing harnesses
Passed IVA in September 2022 and registered by the DVLA in October
Built to a high standard, with attention to detail
First MOT due in Oct 2025
Built from a Westfield single donor vehicle kit. Receipts for the kit modules and other parts are present, along with a photographic build log
Engine and drivetrain components were sourced from a 1996 1. 8 Mazda MX-5 Mk1
All donor vehicle parts were reconditioned, as required. The MX-5 came off the road in 2007. Engine has new cam belt kit, water pump, alternator, oil seals, and complete clutch kit
All Mazda nuts and bolts were blasted and zinc plated
The original MX-5 wiring harness was used, with all unnecessary wires removed and connectors replaced with waterproof automotive-specification items
All other parts (body, chassis, steering, suspension, braking system, interior, etc.) were new
MX-5 factory immobiliser system with new transponder keys and steering lock
Registered as a new car but with an N registration, to identify the MOT emissions levels for the engine
Mileage will increase as shakedown tests continue
