Description
Although the Honda CL77 was built in Japan, this 305 cc Scrambler was specificly intended for the US market. It is the ideal motorcycle for the big open spaces, gravel pits and dirt roads of the USA. The Beach Boys song "Little Honda" was written about a CL Scrambler, and with an identical CL77 Dave Ekins (famous motorcycle desert racer, and brother of Bud Ekins - stuntman and "body double" of Steve McQueen)made history by doing the 1600 km of the desert race "Baja California" in less than 40 hours.
This example is a very rare "survivor" in completely original and unrestored condition. On top of that, it is an early version with chromed fenders (later versions had fenders painted gray). The CL77 has never been available in Europe, and finding such a cool scrambler is almost impossible to find outside of the USA. Meanwhile, In America the CL77 has achieved cult status, and during the past months some similar examples were auctioned on the auction website "Bring A Trailer" for amounts between 12, 000 and 17, 000 USD !
This CL77 is already imported in Europe with all duties, taxes and transportation costs paid, and ready to register. It is a very interestingly priced proposal for the discerned collector, as the CL77 is an iconic offroad bike which will only increase in value in the years to come.
