The Porsche 928 is a car that was manufactured by Porsche in Germany between 1977 and 1995.

When Porsche introduced this car, which was very advanced for its time, in 1977, it was intended to succeed the famous Porsche 911. However, the buyers thought otherwise, they continued to purchase the 911 in large numbers, and the 928 was never able to replace the 911. In the beginning the car sold well, but due to its ever-increasing purchase price and the associated depreciation, the car lost popularity. The price rose from DM 55, 000 in 1977 to DM 164, 600 in 1994. From about 23 vehicles per day, production fell to less than two per day. Nevertheless, this model remained in production until 1995 and a total of about 61, 000 were produced in Zuffenhausen.

Properties
The 928 is a sports coupe that is built in a special way. In the front is a water-cooled aluminum V8, the gearbox is above the rear axle, this is called transaxle and ensures a better weight distribution. The car was available with a 3-speed automatic transmission, from the 1984 model year with a 4-speed transmission, or with a dogleg manual transmission. The rear suspension is designed in such a way that the rear wheels steer lightly in fast corners. In 1986 the 16-valve engine became a 32-valve. The bonnet, front wings and doors are made of aluminum. The body is fully galvanized, the front, rear and sill guards are made of plastic. Furthermore, everything is electric or pneumatic, there is an automatic climate control with air conditioning, and sometimes the entire interior is made of leather (option). That it is a technically complex vehicle is evident from the more than 1000 plug connections and three kilometers of electrical cabling in the car.

It is one of the first cars to be supplied with ABS from model year 1986. In 1989, Porsche started supplying a digital dashboard with on-board computer features. From model year 1990, the car was supplied with tire pressure sensors (RDK) and a hydraulically controlled differential lock (PSD) to optimally control the traction on the wheels.

Performance
Porsche advertised this car with the slogan: "from 0 to 100 km/ h and back to 0 in just 10 seconds" to indicate that both acceleration and braking performance were above average.

The Porsche 928 won the "Car of the Year" title in 1978, making it the only sports car ever to win this title. On August 7, 1986, Al Holbert broke the speed record for sports coupes on the Bonneville Salt Flats in the 928 S4 by clocking 275 km/ h (171 mph).

The 24-hour speed record was broken in 1993 with a standard 928 GTS. The car was simply driven on public roads from Austria to the Nardò Ring in Italy. 6377. 25 kilometers were covered in 24 hours on this circuit, which is an average speed of 265. 72 km per hour. After this journey, completed by four Austrians on the initiative of the private driver Franz Doppler, the Porsche 928 GTS was driven back on the public road under its own power.

This beautiful 928 S4 presented here is in the color dark blue metallic with a gray leather interior. The car was originally delivered in Japan and drove 119000 km there and was perfectly maintained before being transported to Germany. this Porsche is equipped with a sliding roof and a Porsche navigation system.
