A rare opportunity to acquire a genuine factory Ford Escort Mexico with period rally history which
makes this fully restored car an attractive investment. The car left the AVO plant as a rally car prepared for a ladies team and painted blue. As can be seen from the photos the car has been well campaigned and has sported many different colours and liveries as well as entry numbers, the 21, 000 miles it has covered is hard mileage!
Jeffrey Goulden bought the car and with D Belvoir competed in it during the mid `70s entering the
RAC rally on the 9th Jan 1977. The Avon tyres advert in the images shows Jeffrey posing in front of the car. In the early 80’s The Mexico was stored away until 2015 when it was brought out to be restored. The car was a timewarp of that period with the original seats, pedal box, harnesses, fuel tank etc present and the restoration has been sympathetic of this with some of it’s scrapes and battle scars being kept to preserve it’s history. It has been repainted sporting one of the liveries the car wore in period.
A restored Mexico with period rally provenance and in our opinion an extremely worthwhile investment. Ready to enter historic rallying and a real head turner.
