Description

Fully restored by Rawles Motorsport between 2014-2018 this 1964 Mk1 Mini Cooper S evocation is an immaculate and totally over restored beauty. Originally a 1000cc 1964 deluxe Austin Mini the car has been completely restored to Mk1 Mini Cooper S specification of the same year but with a 1275cc A+ fast road engine.

Finished in Almond Green with an Ivory roof plus 10” Swiftune Rose Petal alloys in Matt Black this Mini has both purpose and charm. Additional period rally-style accessories include a Monte Carlo heated windscreen, heated rear screen, original Lucas reversing light and twin Cooper fuel tanks.

URN 44 has been restored to a level many high provenance original Cooper S cars can’t even dream for. With over 900 hours and a £90, 000 spend not including the engine back in 2018. All replacement panels were provided by Heritage and the car was properly rotisserie painted with a durable finish and multiple primers to boost longevity. The car remains thoroughly immaculate having covered just 700 miles since the restoration and is as new. This is a faithfully produced car built very accurately even with custom fabrication to reproduce original features where not commercially available.

Mechanically URN 44 fully backs up this highly attentive ethos with hilo suspension providing a good stance, sticky Goodyear tyres, a Cooper S servo, Cooper S brakes, Alfin rear brake drums and a A+ fast road engine with 1. 75” twin SU carburettors with a fast road camshaft. As you well expect the car is tremendously sharp and taught to drive providing that go-kart handling Mini enthusiasts love.

On the inside this Mini highlights what a beautiful era the 60s where with Crackle Cream headlining of correct original material, a full Newton commercial duotone Porcelain Green and Dove Grey, high back adjustable seats, Smiths revcounter, all period switchgear and a Moto-Lita steering wheel.
