## About this Morris Mini

** FABULOUS RESTORED MINI COOPER S 1275 MKII**

The Cooper S was launched in April 1963 as a higher performance version of the standard Cooper on which it was based. It was, as with the standard Coopers, available in both Austin & Morris versions. In Mk1 form it first of all used a 1071cc version of the BMC A series engine, which developed a full 15 bhp more than the standard 998cc Cooper. The Cooper S also benefitted from other improvements including larger front disc brakes. In March & June 1964 two new engines were added to the range these being the 1275cc and 970cc respectively. This was to enable the Cooper S take part in the under 1000cc and under 1300cc categories in motor sport, and it was in 1964 that a Cooper S driven by Paddy Hopkirk achieved an outright victory in the Monte Carlo rally in his works 1275cc Cooper S.

This stunning fully restored ** Morris Mini Cooper S 1275 MKII** \- Chassis No: ** K-A2S6-1116772A** and Engine No: ** 9F-SA-Y48860** was first registered in Oxford on 2** 5th March 1968** and it is finished in its original colour scheme of Island Blue with a White Roof and Black vinyl trim.

It was the subject of a full professional restoration over 6 years starting in 2004 when the body-shell was stripped to bare metal, replacement panels fitted where necessary and it was fully repainted in its original Island Blue with a White roof. The Engine and Gearbox were totally rebuilt by specialist ** MED Engineering** in 2006, all the interior trim was renewed to its original specification in 2007 and the cooling system and braking system were replaced and uprated in 2010.

Upon completion, the car had covered a genuine 56, 000 and it has now covered ** 58, 625 miles from new** and roughly 10, 000 miles since the Engine rebuild.

There are heaps of invoices and photographs in the history file covering all works and it was valued by the British Mini Club @ £25, 000 back in 2015. It has taken part in many concours events and the Mini Owners Club London to Brighton run on more than one occasion.

In June last year, it was fully serviced by specialist ** Enginuity** in Acton, London, and works new front floor pans, inner wheel arches, numerous new electrical components, rear brake wheel cylinders, new wiring, new water pump and all new cooling system hoses - total cost **£4, 474. 22**.

This car is in exceptional condition throughout and drives superbly and it is very much a car that can be shown at many concours/ club events.

Naturally, the car qualifies as an ** Historic Vehicle** , making it ** Road Tax free** , ** MOT exempt** , and ** ULEZ compliant** , with low-cost classic car insurance available - see our useful links page.

Upon sale, the car will receive a new MOT, our 55-point pre-delivery inspection, and a 6-month mechanical warranty, extendable at additional cost.
