In 2013, to mark the end of 34 years of production of the G-Wagon Cabriolet, Mercedes-Benz released the Final Edition 200. ‘200’ being the number of units to be produced worldwide. The engine of the new car was a 388 hp 5. 5-liter V8 engine mated to a 4-MATIC 7G-Tronic gearbox.
Standard equipment included an electrically operated hood, 18" Alloy Wheels, ESP, Parktronic, air-conditioning, three diff-locks, electric windows, electric folding door mirrors, Mercedes-Benz ‘Comand’ navigation system, Xenon headlights, AMG performance steering wheel and stainless-steel side-steps and spare wheel cover with a hinged bracket.
This final hurrah of the rugged G-Wagon Cabriolet was only available in left-hand-drive form and predictably sold out very quickly. The Final Edition 200 has since become a collector’s piece.
Documents on file confirm our Euro-delivered example was produced on the 20th February 2014 and was finished in Designo Graphite Metallic with Designo Sand leather interior and matching hood.
Supplied by Mercedes-Benz Hamburg, this G500 Final Edition was registered on the 17th April 2015 to a company supplying luxury cars for the use of VIP clients in Cannes and Monaco.
In September 2020 the car was purchased by the current owner and imported into the UK. The G500 joined his collection and has been used sparingly since.
Having covered a little over 13, 000 miles, UK registered and freshly serviced this ultimate version of the G-Wagen Cabriolet represents an opportunity to acquire a rare modern classic.
