We are delighted to present for sale this very “stock” Series 3 Land Rover®, presented in Light Pastel Green colour scheme with Limestone Wheels. This Series 3 is from the very last year of production in 1984.
Externally, this Series 3 has not been messed about with… the only notable additions to standard being larger defender style mirrors for increased visibility. We like the stock look of this truck – with the bonnet mounted spare, front and rear mud flaps, rear grab handles and original galvanised cappings – there is also a tow bar with electrics to allow towing and a recent front galvanised front bumper to give a sharp look. The bodywork, as the photos show, is of a spray type finish, which is nice to note and not commonly seen at this price point.
The interior continues the standard theme – with uprated deluxe seats and a set of premium door cards being fitted for a luxury feel, and deluxe matting to the footwells. The rear is unfitted, with the exception of a load mat, but bench seats could be added on request for £595 fitted to increase seating to seven occupants including the driver. There is a handy fire extinguisher in the front cabin, should it ever be required. It is nice to see that the dash has not suffered from the usual sun cracking.
Out on the road, this delivers a pleasing period drive – with the slightly larger tyres than standard (700s) giving a more relaxed cruise without adding significant weight to the steering. The standard look meant many of the older residents in central Thirsk enjoyed seeing us out on our usual test drive!
In summary, if you are looking for a Series 3 Land Rover® which has been kept true to the original format, whilst also having those little modern touches like uprated seats and mirrors to make your life a little easier, then this could be for you. With soon upcoming MOT & Tax Exemption, along with Classic Insurance already being an option, it should prove to be a cost-effective vehicle to own in the longer term, whilst also appreciating in value provided it is appropriately looked after.
