History of the Alfa Romeo Montreal
The Alfa Romeo Montreal remains an iconic Alfa Romeo to this day. It is a sporty, elegant and futuristic sports coupé which was presented for the first time in 1967 at the world exhibition on the subject of "future automobiles" in Montréal. The name then resulted from the exhibition location. Due to the positive response, Alfa Romeo decided to start series production and built a total of 3925 of these fantastic icons between 1970 and 1977. This Alfa was designed by Marcello Gandini, Bertone's chief designer. The technology was based on the Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 used in racing. For the first time at Alfa Romeo, the Montreal received a production V8 engine with 2. 6 litres displacement and 200 hp output at 6, 500 rpm. The engine had four overhead camshafts.

This Alfa Montreal offered here is something for gourmets, not purists. This Alfa was modified by the legendary "Zauber-Tuning" (a specialist for Alfa Romeo classics). The failure-prone Spica injection system was replaced by a lambda-regulated freely programmable control for the injection system. The original water pump, which was prone to failure, was replaced by an electric water pump and many other technically sensible optimisations were carried out by this company. About 10 years ago, this Montreal was restored and repainted in its current colour black (nero). The original delivery colour was silver (argento metallizzato). In the course of the restoration, the interior was also renewed in a fantastic red leather. Since the restoration and technical conversion, this Montreal has been part of an exceptional Alfa Romeo collection and has travelled a total of approx. 10-15, 000 km. Today, this Monti is in exceptionally good condition. There are no visible rust problems, the paintwork and interior are immaculate, the technology has always been maintained in an exemplary manner, there is no backlog of repairs. The sports exhaust system enchants with its excellent sound. We are selling this Montreal on behalf of the last owner of many years. A very special Montreal, which will give its new owner many years of pleasure.
