Advertising on behalf of a customer 1966 Ford Cortina MK2 1500GT LHD in need of restoration. This car was brought over from Sweden at some point and will need Uk registered when its done. We can help with all the paperwork. This is a very early car which shows as being built November 1966 , which is a month after the MK2 Cortina was officially launched. They also only did the 1500 versions for a short period of time before changing to the 1600. The seller had a rhd 2 door donor car and has cut the full bulkhead, steering box etc from it. That all comes with the car and a RHD dash panel. Basically most of the stuff you would need to convert it is with it.
Body - Early 2 door GT shell in LHD. Vin number starts BA96 which tallies up as a 2 Doot GT model. The shell itself is not too bad. It will need a restoration but by no means a basket case. Will need work on wings, arches, front floors, boot wells. There will be more and its worth viewing in person. Doors are good as is the bonnet and bootlid. Paintwork is terrible and will need redone as part of the restoration process. It has the rare opening quarter windows usually only seen on export models.
Mechanics - 1500 Engine. It does start and run so you can hear it but will obviously need checked and overhauled as part of the restoration. Has the correct tramp bars and brackets on the axle and shell. Looks like original 4 speed gearbox and running gear, which again will need refurbished, replaced, repaired.
Interior - GT Dash with additional dials on top of dash. GT seat and door cards are all present. No headlining. Again everything will need refurbished as part of the restoration.
Wheels - Non original steel cyclone wheels.
