The Ha Viva was produced from 1963 until 1966 with Standard and Deluxe versions available until 1965 when the “SL” and “SL90” versions were launched with various styling upgrades and an extra 10bhp for the range topping 90.
This car is a 1966 HA in Pacific Blue with a Meteor Blue flash. It was first registered November 1966, two months after the launch of the HB. It’s in full SL90 spec but the original bill of sale (from “Kingston Hill Motor Works” Vauxhall main dealer) describes the car as “Viva SL with discs” so it’s possible that it has been upgraded to “90” spec earlier in its life.
We bought this car from its last local owner of 13 years who has maintained it well and searched high and low for one in this colour. The mileage reading is 66, 000 – it had a documented speedometer change at 10, 000 miles in 1969 making the total mileage 76, 000.
It’s in superb condition, free from rot, drives beautifully. The interior trim is good with a little wear to some areas, the body and paint are excellent and the under-bonnet is outstanding. It also comes with an interesting history file including the original bill of sale, a complete set of Vauxhall Motors original workshop manuals, original green log book, service book and owner’s manual. It’s fitted with “Lumenition” electronic ignition and a full length “Sunway” folding roof which is in perfect order and make it a very pleasant place to be on a sunny day!
We have just carried out one or two minor re-commissioning jobs – this beautiful Viva is a go anywhere car, ready to use or show.
