Although the Triumph Dolomite range, introduced in 1972, had proved to be refined and sporty, competitors such as BMW's 2002 had a performance advantage which was costing Triumph dearly, both in terms of sales and prestige
To remedy this, they unveiled the Dolomite Sprint in June 1973 powered by a 1, 998cc, 16-valve, SOHC, four-cylinder producing 127bhp and enabling 119mph and 8. 4 seconds to 60mph
This 1980 example is presented in Inca Yellow paintwork which, whilst not perfect, is very presentable
The odometer indicates 13, 748 miles but there was a documented speedo head change at 82, 000 miles (c. 95, 000 miles from new) with MOT Certificates confirming around 13, 000 miles in the last 25 years
Much work done in 2005-8 with c.£4, 000 spent in parts and labour during the last 4, 000 miles
