Description
This lovely Series 2A has been refinished in Land Rover Pastel Green with black seats. It had a bare metal body restoration in 2020 at a cost of circa £8k which included the following:
Replaced floor panels throughout
Replaced front leaf springs
Replaced foot well panels and A posts
Replaced rear cross member
Sprayed galvanised steel wheels
New front bumper
New Sill panels
New light units and lenses
New seals to tail gate, bulkhead vents, front panel, windscreen/ roof/ cab and doors
New window runners/ trims
New roof liner and door trims
New seats including frames
At some point in the past it has been fitted with a 200TDi engine from a later Defender which is a huge improvement over the original 2. 25L unit. It is a 2. 5-litre unit with a modern alloy cylinder head, improved turbocharging, intercooling and direct injection. At the same time of the restoration the engine had a service which included an oil and filter change along with replacing the cam belt and water pump.
