Description
The Hawk HF series kit is based on the famous design of Lancia Stratos that was used in rally and motorsport in the seventies. The uncompromising two-seater, mid-engined layout gives excellent handling and the competition-bred design of these kits give the driver an almost unique motoring experience.
These cars have had the highest acclamation from all sectors of the motoring press for not only their quality and visual accuracy but also for their excellent balance and handling characteristics. These features combine to make ownership of what is undeniably an aesthetically beautiful body form, also a great delight to drive.
Like the real thing, the chassis is beautifully constructed to accept all the right components for a compact, well-balanced driver’s car. Combine with its authentic interior, brilliant handling, superb engineering quality and great performance, the Hawk HF Series is certainly a rally enthusiasts dream!
This Hawk Stratos wearing full ALITALIA racing livery we are offering for sale, comes in the stunning GROUP 4 body style with ‘coffin-spoke’ style wheels used on the original Lancia Stratos hiding inside the cavernous front and rear wheel arches. The Power comes from a superb Alfa 164 3000cc V6 coupled to a 5 speed gearbox, the body is an exact replica of the original, right down to the finest detail, such as the four individual aluminium louvre panels. In fact, all the body panels are so accurately made that they are regularly used as replacements for original cars.
The HF chassis is manufactured from folded steel and tube, is closely modelled on the original, down to the removable rear cage cross-member. It is extremely strong but substantially lighter than the original, and includes such details as mounting points for three or four point harnesses and alternative engine mounts. It is powder coated, with brackets and mountings for all mechanical components already fitted.
A supple ride is assured by the long travel suspension and carefully tuned damping and spring rates.
Critical suspension components, such as upright extensions, are machined from 56 ton spec. steel, and are heat treated and surface ground. All suspension parts are either nickel plated or epoxy coated. The front suspension offers the exact geometry of the original. The rear suspension is visually identical but revised roll centres, together with the facility of front and rear adjustment, make the HF range ideal for road, as well as competition use.

THIS MOTOR CAR:
This previously restored Hawk Lancia Stratos replica was imported and registered in Hong Kong in 2012 and showing 0 previous owners on the HK VRD. This stunning Group 4 style mid-engined Right hand drive car was originally built and registered in the UK back in 1980.
Bought "used" by the current owner 11 years ago, imported to Hong Kong and commenced a much needed full recommissioning. The whole car was repainted white with "Alitalia Livery" colour scheme painstakingly hand painted on to the car's body. All decals took months to be scanned and scaled up from a 1:18 scale model car to ensure accuracy. The interior configuration was improved to allow the much needed air conditioning system to be installed. This year-long restoration cost upwards of HKD 880, 000 along with engine and mechanical overhaul where all major areas of the engine, belts, clutch, cooling, ignition, suspension, brakes, fuel system, body and interior refreshed. From that point onwards, the car has been sparingly driven, mostly to events and shows.
This example is ready to enter a new stable. Available for viewing and no joy ride by appointment for serious interest only.
