Mercedes C200 Elegance – Low Owners/ Show Car
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a series of compact executive cars introduced in 1993 as a replacement for the 190/ W201 range. The C-Class was the smallest model in the marque's line-up with styling cues carried over from the W124 E-Class, W140 S-Class and R129 SL-Class. The result was a car that looked good, sold well and today offers timeless styling and superb value for money for the driver looking for something a little different.
At Milestone Classics we are constantly being asked to source quality later model emerging classics that can be used regularly as a “standout” everyday driver or simply kept for high day & holiday motoring while values increase.
There are lots of Mercedes out there to choose from but very few outstanding examples – most have gone through multiple owners where maintenance, care & attention has been in short supply.
Our car was ordered on 30 June 1994 from Brunswick (Croydon) Mercedes Dealership by Mr Mitchell and was registered/ delivered during September that year at a cost of £25, 443. 65 – a serious sum in 1994!
The Mercedes was Mr Mitchell’s last car and the C200 passed briefly to his wife in 2015 and then onto a neighbour/ close friend during 2016. Both men maintained the car fastidiously/ regardless of cost evidenced by the service book (with over 30 main dealer’s stamps) and receipts in excess of £13k in the large history folder.
The next owner, a regular Milestones customer, acquired the car in September 2021 by which time it had covered around 120k miles. Over the following 12 months the car was pampered in a heated garage and only used for local shows finishing second in the concours class in 2021. The last owner purchased the car from us last year and describes the car as driving better than his “modern” BMW Mini. He has maintained the car regardless of cost and is only selling to make way for another Milestones car.
Our 1995 C200 Elegance saloon is finished in stunning Pearl Blue Metallic (Code 348) with Mushroom (Elegance) cloth trim, auto (4 speed) box and remote locking (key fobs (x2) still work)
On the road the Mercedes does not disappoint. She drives like a two-year-old car and propels you along with the minimum of fuss and maximum of comfort. The unmarked interior is like stepping back in time and all controls work exactly as you would expect.
There is a huge history file from day one with initial order, purchase invoice, dealers sales brochure, full book pack, V5’s, lots and lots of invoices, MOT’s etc.
At Milestones we (sadly) still get excited at finding original Mercedes as good as this. Perfect for the enthusiast seeking a ‘last of the line’ comfortable, practical, understated, quality Mercedes saloon that is economical to run and equally at home on the daily commute, school run or long-distance road trip.
