Jaguar has remained faithful to its classic model names for a long time, and that also applies to the XK. The XK you see here is one of the very last examples. The first series of the XK was introduced in 1996 and was replaced by a completely new model in 2006. That model received a facelift in 2009 and remained in production until 2014, which is indeed the year of this magnificent and extra luxurious XK Portfolio.
Ian Callum designed the still modern-looking body of this XK. It is a sleek model that is available as a coupe as well as a convertible. The version here provides you with the most amount of freedom, the convertible. And not just any convertible, but the most complete Portfolio edition. Add a beautiful colour combination and low mileage to that, and we can safely say that we are dealing with a quite unique XK here.
The great pleasure begins on the outside with the Osmium Blue Metallic bodywork. It is not only the original colour but also the first paint. Its condition is very good due to expert maintenance, and the only thing that can be found with a magnifying glass are some minor signs of use that are to be expected with a mileage of 59, 788 km, negligible in other words. The large 20? wheels, partly painted in anthracite grey and partly polished, are in excellent condition and look stunning. The car has mainly been stored indoors and was only taken out for pleasure trips, which is evident from the rubbers and lighting components that clearly haven?t suffered from prolonged exposure to sunlight or other weather conditions.
The interior also gives the impression of being barely used. The beautiful light upholstery is as good as new and of exceptionally high quality. Soft and supple leather on the seats, beautifully dark leather on the dashboard, centre console, and pretty much everywhere you look. It is only interrupted by beautifully lacquered wood and aluminium accents. The advantage of a car of this relatively young age is that it is equipped with all the conveniences. The seats are not only electrically adjustable and heated, but they also feature seat ventilation. The Bowers & Wilkins audio system provides a fantastic rendition of your favourite music. Furthermore, features such as an electrically adjustable steering column, cornering lights, navigation, and numerous other modern amenities are all present.
Under the long hood resides an engine that we can only dream of in the newest models: a magnificent naturally aspirated 5. 0 V8. With 385 horsepower, it is capable of breathtaking performance. With a sprint to one hundred kilometres per hour in just over 5 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/ h, you lack nothing. However, it is precisely the smoothness of this engine that stands out, along with the comfort that the car offers. It is impressive how Jaguar has managed to create a beautiful blend of luxury, comfort, and sportiness. Moreover, as the driver, you still have control: the electronically adjustable suspension can lean towards either comfort or sportiness, depending on your preference.
The car comes with a comprehensive Carfax document containing all the maintenance records from the early years. Various invoices from the recent period are also available. The original instruction manual and associated items are present in the original leather pouch.
All in all, an XK that you are unlikely to find another one anytime soon.
