This is the Phase I, 1. 6 litre, 8-valve, fuel-injected 205 GTi variant.
This car is mechanically, cosmetically, and structurally sound with consistent investment & development throughout its lifetime dedicating it toward its current usage for regularity and classic rallying.
Some of the specification is as follows:
Gaz Gold coilovers with adjustable spring platforms
Gaz Gold rear shocks
New front discs and brand new Mintex 114 front pads
Replacement metal brake pipes, and underfloor pipe guards fitted
Quaife ATB diff and 4. 43 final drive
Gearbox rebuilt with new bearings and seals. Improved gear linkage
New clutch, release bearing and clutch cable
Cylinder head rebuilt with fast road camshaft (producing 113bhp & 99 ft-lb torque)
4-2-1 manifold, stainless-steel exhaust, K&N filter
Further rally preparation includes:
Sump guard with reinforced mounts
Roll cage
Full harness belts
Strut bar
Front anti-roll bar links inc. re-aligning front shocks
Fire extinguisher
Brantz timer and 2S meter
Hella Rallye 1000 lights
… plus no doubt much more besides. (including a whole host of spare wheels and tyres!)
This is a proven and capable entrant into the exciting and friendly world of classic rallying. It is a relatively economical entry to learn to compete in that world, or an arguably more relaxed way to continue the hobby if 50’s and 60’s classic cars are becoming too much of a handful for you…
The current MOT expires in September so a fresh MOT will be granted on sale to new owner.
