Lotus Esprit N/ A X180, 1990. Stunning version of the rare Stevens shape normally aspirated Esprit with a superb electric power steering upgrade. Just 42k miles with a fully supporting history. Thoroughly gone through in every department to bring this superb Lotus up to modern day standards of mechanical condition. We sold a fair amount of the X180 in the mid-nineties, but nowadays they are hard to find, especially in this amazing condition. First class condition inside, out and underneath. The carburettors have been fully rebuilt and the car has been rolling road set up and tuned and is producing a very healthy 177bhp at 6, 000 rpm with plenty of torque to back it up. This is certainly the best Esprit X180 we have ever driven for decades as the electric power steering makes it an effortless drive with fingertip steering. It reminds me of the first S4 Esprit I drove in 1996 when the power steering was introduced on the Esprit. A complete revelation. Deservedly featured in Classic Cars May 2023 edition.
