We are very pleased to offer a virtually unique ultra low mileage 1998 Rover Mini Kensington Auto. Finished in gleaming British Racing green with a gold coach line, twin spot lamps and Minilite wheels with wider profile Yokohama tyres. This very luxurious Mini has covered just six thousand miles from new with just two owners from new. The first owner purchased it from Rover when it was just one month old and cared for it for 23 years. This is a Japanese spec Kensington 1275 Auto with Air Conditioning, this Mini was never exported it simply never went to Japan as the original owner sourced it directly from Rover as at the time Rover were only exporting Automatic Minis and he luckily managed to buy this one. The Mini has been fastidiously maintained, serviced and wax-oiled since new. It is accompanied with an amazing detailed service history folder which details of every mile, optional extras fitted and maintenance, the original hand books and both sets of keys, it fantastic provenance which is very rare to find. The cherished number plate is also included with the Mini.
This amazing Mini is still in its factory condition and also benefits from tasteful extras such as Wood and Pickett wheel arches, Burr walnut door caps, opening rear windows, super rare walnut capped steering wheel, John Cooper alloy door trim, RC40 twin box exhaust, optional extra cream leather dash top rail, high level brake light and an alloy rocker cover. The Mini was purchased by the original owner for his wife to use and it has been in regular use since 1998, having an MOT every year and an oil and filter every six months for its entire life, it has even been regularly cleaned behind all of the window seals such is the care and attention this Mini has received. It has been very well preserved with annual wax oil in all of the Minis cavities which also makes it very useable. This year it has been valued by the British Mini Club at £18k and described as outstanding.
As you can imagine it drives like its brand new, its a total pleasure to drive this Mini. The 1275 fuel injected engine is virtually silent and the gearbox is sublime as it shifts through the gears. I am a big fan of Automatic Minis as they are such fun to drive and offer the true Go-Kart driving experience, simply select Drive and off you go. This Mini, as mentioned is fuel injected so all you need to do is turn the key and go. Further features include a drivers airbag and side impact beams in the doors. Performance will certainly surprise you as 1275 Auto Minis really can get going and easily keep up with modern traffic.
The interior is simply beautiful and looks and smells new. It has a real baby Rolls Royce feel. Unmarked cream leather seats with matching door cards, John Cooper alloy door trim, burr walnut door caps, unmarked green carpets and the original matching floor matts. Full length Walnut dash with three clock dash including rev counter and the original Rover cassette player, not to mention ice cold Air conditioning. The interior is a total time warp with a real quality finish.
This Mini has been wax oiled throughout its entire life and as such has never had a panel or any welding. This is not a restored Mini, its an extremely well cared for example that belies its 25 year vintage. The paintwork is very well presented with a real gleam and the panel gaps are all as they were when it left the factory. This is a fantastic opportunity to own a super low mileage Mini that will be around in this condition for many years to come thanks to the careful maintenance it has received. It has been an absolute pleasure to work on a real privilege to drive. This Mini immediately draws a crowd and its well deserved.
The Mini is fully serviced and has a long MOT so is ready to go and be driven, enjoyed and cherished.
