Designed in 1984, the R129 was built on a shortened platform of the Mercedes-Benz W124. The new SL-class was introduced in March 1989 at the Geneva Motor Show. It finished second to the Citroen XM in the Car of the Year competition. The unit we are offering for sale is a beautiful example from Germany, complete with a factory hardtop! It is in excellent condition both inside and out, featuring a flawless transmission and a strong engine: thanks to its low mileage, it is practically like new. It comes equipped with factory dual-zone climate control and an OEM wind deflector. A significant advantage is that it is fitted with the most powerful engine available in the 500SL.
