The Renault 5 was the first mass produced hatchback to be introduced to the world in 1972 and although most were produced in France they were also assembled in a range of other countries including South Africa where this fantastic RHD example was produced. It was such a successful model that in 1980 it was the 2nd most sold car in the world and in France it held the title of best-selling car from 1974 to 1983.
This stunning Renault 5 we have for sale here is no ordinary example, not that are many left on the road at all these days. It was manufactured in 1984 and prior to import to the UK last month had just one lady owner from new who covered less than 18000 miles during her ownership. Consequently the condition of this car is absolutely stunning.
Always garaged it has spent all its life in dry and sunny inland Gauteng which means the body condition is in amazing original rust free shape and the gleaming sunshine yellow paintwork brings a smile to everyone's face as you drive by. The interior is like new and the 1289cc engine is really quite nippy in such a light car and a delight to rev and row through the gears to keep up in modern traffic.
