This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The NEC Classic Motor Show Sale 2023 - Cars on Saturday the 11th of November, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT. The Fiat 500 200 Ferrari Dealer Edition is an extremely special and rare example of Fiat's incredibly successful 500 Abarth Essesse. Not to be confused with the 695 Tributo that came afterwards, the Dealer Edition was commissioned by Ferrari and they were originally intended to be used as courtesy vehicles at Approved Ferrari service centres, however the demand for the car was so strong that almost all of them were instantly sold to important clients.
Although styling is very similar to the 695, the Dealer Edition came much earlier than its more common relative; although clearly the styling for the 695 Ferrari Tributo was heavily based on the limited Dealer Edition. Finished in Rosso Corsa, the Dealer Edition' is an Abarth 500 Essesse underneath and therefore has a power output of 160bhp fed through a manual gearbox. In addition, the Dealer Edition is fitted with a Monza sports exhaust system, red brake calipers, Sabelt leather bucket seats, aluminium pedals, glass tilt and slide sun roof, air-conditioning and a Carbon-effect special steering wheel with red stitching; all of which would make their way onto the later 695.
All cars are individually numbered out of 200, making them an incredibly good, long-term investments as well as fantastic city cars. Of the 200 cars made, only 60 were right-hand drive and destined for the UK.
Offered here is one of those 60 UK right-hand drive examples, and was first registered on 30th July 2008. Having been enjoyed by just three owners from new, the mileage today is just over 31, 000. Finished in the usual Rosso Corsa, the dashboard plaque indicates that this is number 196 out of the 200 produced worldwide and is being offered from private ownership.
Fitted by the previous owner with the ‘Abarth kit’ including Abarth wheels and springs, the vendor has the original wheels and springs and they are included in the sale. Please also note that the car is MOT'd until May 2024 and will be serviced prior to the sale.
