Description

History:
The Iso Rivolta Lele is the reminiscence of Piero Rivolta's wife Rachele, called "Lele". Originally intended as a one-off for an American client, the prototype of the Lele, designed by Bertone, turned out so well in terms of design and quality that 317 units were produced. Initially GM engines were fitted, later Rivolta opted for the steadfast Ford V8 engine. This example is one of the last Rivolta cars built, as the company fell victim to the oil crisis in 1974. The example built for Switzerland with the construction number 186 has an extensive documentation, whose history from 1996 until today is documented with many photos and invoices. From 2001 to 2003, the Lele was extensively restored. The body as well as the interior were completely dismantled and rebuilt, the chrome and the rims were restored.

Bodywork and paintwork:
The paintwork is still in very good condition 20 years after the restoration and has only very few, barely visible paint damage and an unevenness in the door surface which is not visible in the photos and which only becomes visible in the light reflection. The entire body is completely free of rust and extremely healthy.

Interior:
The leather, which was renewed 20 years ago, has its marks on the driver's seat due to regular use of the car. The buyer has the option of gently restoring the interior or, if desired, having it completely re-leathered. Some like it with a little patina, others prefer the new. The carpets as well as the trim are in good, used condition, which can be seen in detail in the expertise.

Engine and mechanics:
The previous owner placed a lot of emphasis on the reliability of the Lele, which is evident in the technical values and the long-distance capability. The chrome steel exhaust system is as good as new. The last veteran's inspection is dated September 2017 and would therefore have to be renewed in Switzerland.

Chassis:
Chassis, suspension and brakes work reliably. The shock absorbers have lost some effect and should be replaced for improved road holding.

Driving experience:
The 325 SAE hp 5. 8 litre V8 engine accelerates the Lele to 100 km/ h in seven and a half seconds and allows a top speed of over 230 km/ h. A breathtaking driving performance in the early 1970s - today more than enough to take longer journeys and use the motorway.
The also breathtaking sound of the big V8 engine paired with the chrome steel exhaust system makes you forget that you could actually listen to music.

Recommendation:
As the only surviving Lele with a Swiss first delivery, as evidenced by the type certificate and Iso production certificate, this is one of the most collectible examples of an Italian sports coupé under CHF 100, 000. If you are looking for a rarity, this classic is a very well preserved collector's car and at the same time one of the better value investments.
