HISTORY:
The Pre Cat Griffith announced at the 1990 Motor show was a charismatic and groundbreaking car in TVR’s history, bringing wide acclaim and various awards for producing a sublime car at an affordable price which sold out almost over night and destined in time to become a collectable item - J901 NLC is one of the earliest 4. 3 iterations which we sold new from the the initial 1992 production run and is in original condition with just 38115 miles only - Full Service History - 33 service visits in total with a large file of all invoices from 2002 - MOT’s prior to 2006 - Press reviews and tests etc - Handbook pack - 2 Keys - MOT 15/ 02/ 2025.

EXTERIOR:
The beautiful Formula Red Pearlescent paintwork (RM) retains the original factory paint finish and is in astonishing condition with just a handful of stone markings to upper surfaces - Very very minor light road rash to extreme lower surfaces which are not noticeable unless viewed very closely from underneath. - The panel gaps are as perfect as possible, most likely as the body came out from fresh mould.
INTERIOR:
Again the optional Full black leather interior sets a very high standard with its original factory trim - The seats have a lovely patina with all the carpeting in 1st class order with absolutely no signs of water ingress anywhere - No shredded edges, nothing just lovely throughout - Maybe its had a pair of floor carpets but difficult to tell as they look factory original - New Dash veneer panel - Door and Roof seals are all in excellent factory condition .
ROOF and WINDSCREEN:
The removable black Targa section c/ w replacement rear window were retrimmed in 2006 to factory standard - Apart from a small mark on the Targa panel the roof it remains in excellent condition with no frayed edges etc- The original windscreen and seal are also in fine condition.
BOOT:
Excellent condition with no defects.
WHEELS / TYRES:
Factory option 15/ 16 inch OZ Split Rim Multi Spoke Alloys which in 2011 were powder coated to a high standard.
The Yokohama front and Bridgestone rear tyres are aged but uncracked with loads of tread.
FULL VEHICLE INSPECTION:
Mat Smith TVR carried out a full chassis and vehicle inspection on the 15/ 11/ 2024 at 38115 miles with specific attention given to the chassis condition - In his own words 'I have inspected the chassis condition and have found no holes at time of test. There are signs of pitting to outrigger tubes and loss of powder coating in these areas which have had wax oil applied'
CHASSIS / ENGINE BAY:
The original grey chassis finish is recognised to possess superior adhesion due to improved coating application at that time - Considering that this is now approaching 32 years old it is in very solid condition with no holes to the known vulnerable areas together with with the wishbones being in good condition - Through the years application of wax oil as and when required to known areas has kept all in good order - The pre cat exhaust and manifolds and system are retained - The bonnet heat shielding fits very tightly in position - Engine bay images are as car was originally delivered.
SUMMARY:
This very early production example with the recognised sweet spot 4. 3 engine upgrade adds desirability and value - Due to its outstanding original condition, this is a proper TVR collectors car exactly as it is (ie) ‘Put it away in storage without touching’ or one to drive and enjoy for exactly what it represents - Alternatively one could spend cosmetic time underneath the car for personal satisfaction - However at present this beautiful example is offered for sale in original condition with some reinstatement which I could not resist - The charismatic and ground breaking Griffith 4. 3 is a future classic without question and should in time at todays value look like a very astute purchase - Look at the prices of some pretty average cars and then some big names in period and ask yourself the same question - I have spoken to the last 2 owners who remarked that the car had been garaged for a least 95% of its life.
