Country Classic Cars are pleased to be able to offer a JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) 2012 Audi S3 2. 0l Sportback TSFi on commission sale. Coupled to VW groups DSG/ S Tronic auto gearbox with manual paddle option this S3 left the factory boasting 261bhp output via the Quattro 4-wheel drive system although performance has been further uprated as we will explain later. This 'wolf in sheep's clothing' S3 version arrived in 2008 and ran for four years with the companies press release claiming 'The dynamic range-topping member of the A3 family sports new features, too. There is now a second top model on the market, with the Audi S3 Sportback joining the three-door Audi S3. Both versions are equipped with the same engine, the reengineered 2. 0 TFSI with an output of 195 kW (265 hp). With 350 Nm (258. 15 lb-ft) of torque available constantly from 2, 500 to 5, 000 rpm, the direct-injection, two-litre turbo catapults the three-door model from 0 to 100 km/ h (62. 14 mph) in 5. 7 seconds (Sportback: 5. 8 seconds); the top speed is limited electronically to 250 km/ h (155. 34 mph). Yet the S3's fuel consumption is astonishingly low, at an average of 8. 5 litres per 100 km (27. 67 mpg).'
This example came into the UK via Global Cars in 2020 and enjoyed an interim service plus health check in June of that year at 49948 miles. In October Map tech Motorsport carried out a stage 1 remap and the printout confirms the current power output is 290bhp @ 5995rpm an increase of 40bhp with a torque improvement of 30Nm to 382Nm @4157rpm. Not that performance was disappointing before, a 0-60mph time of 5. 5 seconds with a top speed of 155mph. That said, on the road the S3 is smooth, almost docile under regular driving conditions, the gear shift is seamless, and the Audi quality can certainly be felt behind the wheel. Running gear is taught whilst steering is exact, no doubt this example has not had a hard life and the drive is difficult to fault; certainly the ESP, hill hold and optional magnetic ride shocks all offer benefits. A further full service has been carried out recently, at 53369 miles in June 2023 and this is stamped in the current UK service record. Unusually for a JDM import the original Japanese book pack carries the service history prior to export and these were recorded in kilometres.

At Country Classic Cars we find it's best to present a warts and all detailed write up of any classic we are requested to sell. This helps to avoid buyers remorse especially for those purchasing from abroad or interested parties travelling distances to view. Finished in Phantom Black this S3 presents very well, the panels are straight with factory gaps, and it requires a keen eye to note two tiny stone chips to the bonnet. The factory alloys are very clean just a small mark to the o/ s front with good tyres boasting little wear all round. Interior trim is showroom finish with black leather/ Alcantara seating that enjoy heated seats with electric operation, centre arm rest and leather trimmed multi-function sports steering wheel. Factory sat nav, parking sensors all round, remote opening and electric windows/ mirrors are just a few examples from the long list of PR codes (options & equipment) listed in the service manual. For the driver seeking a subtle performance 5 door this S3 is an honest example boasting good history and low miles. You may have to travel far and wide to find a cleaner example and certainly warrants closer inspection. It comes with a V5, original and UK service packs with a current MOT till March 2024.
