Description

BMW 2002 Tii , 1975 , Yellow , 4 speed manual , 1990cc Kugelfischer Fuel injection.
The Peter Armstrong car. Peter was the Founding treasurer of the UK 2002 register.
Extremely well known amongst the historic BMW fraternity , the 2002 Club and as far afield as the BMW plant in Munich. Exhibited in the UK and at Techno Classica in Germany and featured in numerous classic car magazines , as well as appearing on Television.
The Provenance and documented History of the car is Simply astonishing.
Quite simply , the most detailed and the most comprehensive documented history of a classic car Steve has ever seen.
It cannot be overstated. Its not one file. Its a whole series. Chronological detail for anything and everything that related to the car.
The car was acquired from the original owner , a retired Policeman in 1988 by Peter and after a 2 year search to find the best 2002 Tii BMW possible.
At this time the car had only covered 55k miles and was backed by a meticulous and beautifully documented History. Unopened Bookpack and never used spare keys taped to the book pack set the standard and the car was totally unmodified and unabused.
Peter immediately submitted the car to renowned UK BMW 2002 restorers Jaymic of Norfolk. Over a 6 month period , their instruction was to bring the car up to the very finest standard with the emphasis on originality.
Once completed , Peter made good use of the car for club meets , continental tours and special outings.
An owner of many BMW's , the 2002 Tii was Peters favourite car and he remained obsessive about sustaining its originality and continuing the 'ultimate' documentation of an important historic car.
HVP92N remained with Peter for 35 years and is being commissioned for sale to Stephen by Peters Wife.

The 2002 Tii is probably one down from the infamous and famous 2002 Turbo.
Many preferred the Tii for its reliability and 'day to day' usability.
A 2002 Tii is no slouch. the 130 Bhp 4 cylinder engine gets you to 60 mph in 8 seconds and on to a top speed of 120 Mph.
Respectable today and a sign of things to come from the Bavarian car maker.
Its not about that though. This car represents the beginning of the very Sporting BMW small saloons.
Highly prized. Highly collectable. Very very rare.
Bordering on impossible to find in this condition.
It would not be a bold step to claim this car is probably the best documented car of all the remaining 2002 Tii's.

For Much more detail , send an E-mail to steve and He'll call you back.
Serious enquiries please.
This car is very much one for the serious BMW collector.
Its probably the only opportunity a genuine right hand drive 2002 Tii from Long term ownership with such detailed provenance comes to the UK market.
Overseas interest can be accommodated. we are highly conversant with export protocol in Europe and have shipped cars as far afield as Australia.
The 12 photographs shown are part of a 200+ Photographic portfolio we have undertaken.
Steve may change these 12 at a later date.

This car features as Car of the Month for January 2024 on the BMW 2002 Club website.
A very detailed narrative and a selection of historic photographs can be viewed.
Please take time to have a look if you can.
The 2002 BMW Club chairman has asked if the next owner of this car can keep intouch with them.

JAN24 update: We've put this car through an MOT despite its exemption status. A genuine Straight pass and although we are not obliged to do an ''emissions test'' (exemption for cars that Predate AUG 75) , we still thought it a good idea. Hydrocarbons (unburnt fuel) were quite astonishing for the vehicle and on par with a good 10-20 year old car. Even the Co2 rating was good for a non catalyst car , a little rich but nevertheless , good. We summise the fuel injection pump is beautifully set up.
The car has also been on road test in traffic and on Motorway. It performs perfectly and we are now very conversant with the behaviour traits of this wonderful car. We get a lot of admirers giving it the thumbs up!
SC PRICE GUIDING THE VEHICLE at £35-45K.
