This motorcycle is to be auctioned by Bonhams at the Timed-Online December Sale, with public viewing available Wednesday 6 December, from Bonhams Motorcycles in Milton Keynes. The timed online auction runs between December 1st through December 11th, with lots closing from midday December 11th.

The MSS tourer disappeared from Veloce Limited's range in 1948 while the company concentrated on the LE, reappearing in 1954 with a new swinging-arm frame and Hall Green's own telescopic front fork. The engine too was updated, gaining 'square' bore and stroke dimensions of 86x86mm together with an alloy cylinder barrel and 'head. Following the introduction of the Venom and Viper sports models, sales of the touring MSS gradually declined throughout the 1960s; only 22 were made in 1969 and the last examples left the factory in 1970.
This MSS belonged to the lady vendor's late father. Carrying a tax disc that expired in November 2005, the machine has been kept in dry storage for some time and will require re-commissioning at the very least, or possibly more extensive restoration, before returning to the road and thus is sold strictly as viewed. Prospective purchasers should satisfy themselves as to the motorcycle's completeness, originality and mechanical condition prior to bidding. Accompanying paperwork includes an old-style continuation log-book; old/ current V5/ V5C registration documents; and some expired MoTs. It should be noted that the frame number quoted in the registration documents is 'RE 9594', whereas the actual number is 'RS 9594' (the 'S' mistakenly recorded as an 'E').
